Joan of Arc

on Sat 19 Dec 2015, 12:13 pm
So I've been thinking, Joan of Arc and her military success doesn't make any sense. A 17 year old girl won battle after battle, leading her crumbling nation to a complete victory over a force they had no right to win against. What can explain this? Historical accounts from eyewitnesses are filled with delusional tales of supernatural miracles, but what rational reason was there for her victory?

But she didn't have some special skill. She led aggressive attacks. Anyone could've done that. In fact, the French had tried that earlier in the war.

At this point, I wonder if she actually was the one in charge, or if she was just a figurehead. She just doesn't make sense in a historical context. A young girl somehow rallies the troops and leads them with being "aggressive" the way to win every battle.
